Ante-Partums

Any ante-parum patient is admitted to the labor and delivery floor prior to delivery of an infant for reasons such as high blood pressure, diabetes, bleeding or rupture of membranes. An ante-partum admission can be admitted to a hospital setting for several days or for the legnth of the pregnancy. They sometimes may go home to be on bedrest and followed by an outside homecare facility.

C-Sections

C-Sections are done for several reasons during the labor process. During monitoring of the fetus if you see any D-Cells in the fetal heart rate depending how sigificant the d-cell  is you would call a stat C-section following the Doctors assessment. Using the fetal monitoring strip as your guide. Using the Mayo Clinic as your guide will help to give you more information on how to prepare for a possible C-Section.

Post-Partum

Post-Partum is the 24 to 48 hrs after vaginal or C-Section deliveries. Anything can happen in this time it is crucial to watch for bleeding. Temp change can be a possible infection . Good hydration prior is essential. Follow - up is advised in the Post-partum Support International. Post-partum Depression is a scoring sheet that is done within 24 hours after delivery of a newborn.
